Jonathan Heafitz currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Federal Affairs for the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA), the nation’s trade association for pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
Serving in this capacity since 2007, Jonathan works as the principal advocate for federal policies promoting affordable and accessible prescription drugs on behalf of more than 260 million Americans. In this capacity, Mr. Heafitz is responsible for providing strategic guidance and advising multiple Fortune 50 companies on their Washington, DC advocacy.
Mr. Heafitz has significant Capitol Hill experience, having served as Deputy Legislative Director and Legislative Assistant to Senator Mark Dayton (D-MN), as well as Legislative Assistant to Representative John F. Tierney (D-MA) and Legislative Aide to Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), Chairman of the Health Subcommittee of the Senate Finance Committee. In addition, Mr. Heafitz has worked for Ascension Health, the nation’s largest nonprofit health system.
Mr. Heafitz is a graduate of Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and holds a Master of Public Policy in Health Policy from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University.
When not on Capitol Hill, Mr. Heafitz enjoys spending time with his wife and two children in Silver Spring, Maryland and rooting for his hometown Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins.
Jonathan volunteered for more than 10 years as an emergency Medical Technician with the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad in Montgomery County, Maryland.
