Lance Mangum is the Staff Director of Government Affairs for FedEx Corporation.
As Staff Director, he is responsible for helping to manage and promote the federal legislative, public policy, political and diplomatic interests of FedEx Corporation and all of its operating companies.
As one of FedEx’s most senior government affairs executives, he works with members of Congress, Executive Branch officials and industry associations to advance the domestic and international transportation, tax, trade and security issues important to FedEx. He is a three-time recipient of the FedEx Five Star Award, the company’s highest employee achievement award.
Prior to joining FedEx in 2010, Mangum worked as the Senior Manager of U.S. Government Affairs for Capital One, a diversified financial services company. He began his political career in North Carolina, eventually advising or working on more than 20 political and corporate issue campaigns at the federal, state and local levels spanning over 10 states. In 2006, he was recognized for his work and named a “Rising Star of Politics” by Campaigns and Elections magazine.
Mangum also serves on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina State University National Diversity Advisory Council.
He received his Master of Arts in Political Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C.
A native of Yanceyville, N.C., Mr. Mangum currently resides in Washington, D.C.
