Skip is Vice President of State Regulation and Legislation for the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) where he oversees state legislative and regulatory advocacy and leads a team of government relations professionals providing strategic and tactical support to state CPA societies in all 50 states and U.S. territories. Skip has over 20 years of experience advocating, coalition building and problem solving at the local, state and federal levels.
Before joining AICPA, Skip served as Assistant Vice President, State Government Relations for MetLife, Inc. and was responsible for MetLife’s annual global supervisory meeting with state regulators, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and non-US prudential regulators from the firm’s top ten largest non-US markets.
Prior to joining MetLife, Skip was Vice President and Community Relationship Officer at JPMorgan Chase in Chicago, Illinois where he created a comprehensive community development grant-making program that provided technical assistance for community housing development organizations, pre-development financing for multi-family housing developments, and financial support for after school and anti-gang activities.
Skip Braziel is a native of San Antonio, Texas and currently resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Erica Annise. He holds a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in History from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
