Many organizations work with The Congressional Award to challenge America’s youth. Youth and service organizations throughout America have recognized the potential of young citizens when we raise the bar. The Congressional Award program allows participants the opportunity to set personally challenging goals in each of our program areas.
Young adults participating in partnering organizations have found ways to incorporate their participation into The Congressional Award. Congressional Award Gold Medalists have participated in organizations like 4-H, American Red Cross, AmeriCorps NCCC, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, People to People International, and many others.
The Partner Toolkit is designed to support organizations wishing to offer the Congressional Award as an opportunity for their membership. Explore the benefits of utilizing the program and discover resources and examples that will aid your promotion efforts.
Our partners at the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) have developed a resource to connect military families with The Congressional Award. Download The Congressional Award: A Guide for Military Youth and visit the MFAN website for further resources.
The toolkit is designed to help institutions of higher education encourage Congressional Award participation among students. By incorporating the program into activities already offered by the college or university, students are able to receive recognition for participation in clubs, sports and service initiatives. Students are also encouraged to go beyond their current levels of involvement and pursue new interests that can lead to job and career opportunities. The toolkit highlights a variety of best practices and offers templates such as an introductory letter, sample press release, Record Book and student outreach ideas.
