Charity Poker Tournament

The Chiefs of Staff Charity Poker Tournament welcomes poker enthusiasts across the spectrum including Members of Congress, Chiefs of Staff, poker pros, and friends of the Foundation for an evening of bluffs and blinds, all in the name of charity.

All sponsors receive tickets to the tournament, branded recognition in event publications, inclusion on The Congressional Award website, and are provided with professional photos.

Proceeds from the tournament directly benefit the youth and development of our program – the only charity of the U.S. Congress.

2020 tournament information, including sponsorship opportunities, will be posted soon.

A note from the desk of National Director, Erica Heyse:

Dear Friends,

I want to thank everyone who participated in the 2019 Congressional Award Charity Poker Tournament. Congratulations to our first-place winner Bruce Miller (Chief of Staff to Rep. Mark Amodei); runner-up, Adam Ezring; and third-place winner Frank Cavaliere of Microsoft!

As always, we could not do this without the generous support of our sponsors:

American Airlines
BlueCross BlueShield Association
Bristol-Myers Squibb
Entertainment Software Association
Johnson & Johnson
Lockheed Martin
Smithfield Foods

...and many others for their generous support. Your donations support our efforts to ensure that all young people, regardless of their situation, receive guidance, recognition, and encouragement.

I would like to recognize our Congressional Co-Chairs and participants. We especially want to thank Congressman Billy Long and Mr. Joe Lillis again for leading our recruitment effort on the Hill! And to all of the Chiefs of Staff – we hope you had a great time. You all work very hard to support this congressional program and we are certainly thankful. Hope to see you all again next time.

And finally, a very special thank you to Representatives Duncan Hunter, Ron Wright, Jeff Duncan, William Timmons, and Tom Graves for taking time to support the event and the cause. The Congressional Award is dedicated to promoting volunteerism, personal development, physical fitness, and exploration among America’s youth aged 13 1/2-23. It has helped thousands of young people realize their own potential and develop a lifetime commitment to community service and volunteerism.

Please continue to support us and help us to encourage others to do so as well!

Thank you!
