Participants and Congressional Award recipients are privileged to many opportunities provided by our national partners, schools, and universities. Below you will find scholarship opportunities that are readily available to medallists and participants. Please see each scholarships guidelines and requirements for more details.

People to People International James and Eunice Doty
People to People/ Congressional Award Scholarship
2011-2012

In cooperation with the Congressional Award Leadership Commission, People to People International established the James and Eunice Doty People to People/Congressional Award Scholarship Fund. People to People International is an educational, cultural and humanitarian exchange organization founded in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Its purpose is to advance international understanding through the direct exchange of ideas and experiences among people of different countries. James & Eunice Doty PTPI/Congressional Award Scholarship

This scholarship awards an outstanding middle or high school student (high school seniors are not eligible) full participation in PTPI's annual conference for young leaders, the Global Youth Forum. The scholarship includes all program fees and airfare, as well as a special award recognition from PTPI's President and CEO, Mary Jean Eisenhower. Students are eligible to apply for the 2013 scholarship if they earn and receive the Congressional Award prior to October 15, 2012.

To be eligible for the 2013 scholarship, applicants must:

  • have earned a 2012 Congressional Award (bronze, silver, or gold)
  • currently be a middle or high school student (freshman, sophomore, or junior; seniors are not eligible) 
  • be in good academic standing
  • demonstrate maturity and well-rounded interests
  • demonstrate financial need

MSU Mississippi State University/ Congressional Award Scholarship

Through a partnership between the Congressional Award and Mississippi State University’s Extension Service 4-H Program, hundreds of youth from across the state have been encouraged to take up the Congressional Award challenge. Mississippi State University and the Congressional Award hold that setting goals in the four areas; volunteer public service, personal development, physical fitness, and exploration are beneficial to youth. Thus, scholarships of $1,000, $750 and $500 are given to MSU students who have earned Gold, Silver or Bronze Congressional Award Medals, respectively. This makes MSU the first collegiate institution to offer scholarships specifically intended for Congressional Award medalists. University requirements can be found at www.msstate.edu.

The Congressional Award is pleased to announce a $1000 scholarship through Presidential Classroom for the 4th of July – Presidential Classroom Scholars program in Washington D.C. With this scholarship, a Congressional Award student will participate in an exploration of the inner workings of our government and have a rare opportunity to meet the people that lead our country during this incredible time of change. Through this partnership, we are offering a scholarship of $1000 toward the price of tuition! Don’t miss this exciting opportunity.

Presidential Classroom is a non-profit civic education organization founded in 1968 in the spirit of John F. Kennedy, who challenged young Americans to get involved in public service. Since then, more than 120,000 of the best and brightest high school students have participated in our dynamic programs, and gained insight, valuable experience, and unprecedented access to the federal government and the leaders who shape public policy.

 

Drexel University Distinguished Service Scholarship
Drexel University will award five $5,000 scholarships to incoming freshmen with a significant record of community service/service learning/civic engagement. Consideration will be given to recipients of Congressional Service Awards, applicants who have participated in Corporation for National and Community Service programs (e.g., Learn and Serve America, AmeriCorps, or City Year), and applicants with distinguished service records during high school.
