There’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And then there’s Giving Tuesday!
This year, the nonprofit community will celebrate #GivingTuesday on December 1, 2020. Will you help us continue to build the next generation of servant leaders with a tax-deductible gift?
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that occurs the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and harnesses the power of social media to inspire millions of people to give back to the causes and organizations that matter to them.
It was first organized in 2012 as the charitable giving equivalent to Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. Since its creation, over $400 million has been raised for non-profits like The Congressional Award.
How you can support us:
Our goal is to secure 100 unique personal donations in just 24 hours! Your gift, no matter the size, helps fuel our mission of encouraging and recognizing initiative, service, and achievement in youth.
Make a one-time donation or set up a recurring donation by visiting our secure online giving page. Need inspiration? Consider donating $25 to cover a participant’s registration fee or $40 in honor of the four decades The Congressional Award has been in operation.
Other ways to give:
Giving isn’t just a monetary commitment. Whether you’re spending time with friends and family this #GivingTuesday, supporting an organization that’s close to your heart, or volunteering in your community, there’s always an opportunity to “leave it better than you found it.”
Get Social! Let your friends and followers know why The Congressional Award is important to YOU by posting an #unselfie on social media. Download and print our #Unselfie template, write your response, post a selfie/photo, tag or mention us (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), and use #Unselfie and #GivingTuesday.
Like, comment on, and share our social media posts to amplify the good work we do! There are example posts, downloadable graphics, and even instructions for creating a fundraiser on Facebook in our Giving Tuesday social media toolkit.
Leverage your network: Did you know that 56% of donors say they gave to a cause or organization because a friend asked them to?
