How did you earn your Award?

I earned my award in Johns Creek, GA with the help of friends, family, and amazing mentors. Earning the award was a great goal to have in high school and motivated me to find ways to connect with my community!

Volunteer Public Services:

For my volunteer service, I taught natural science topics like nanotechnology and archaeology to museum guests at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. I loved connecting with guests and exchanging information about interesting science topics. This experience allowed me to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds! I would recommend teaching as a form of volunteer service to everyone; it’s a great way to stay involved with your community!

Physical Fitness:

I joined my high school lacrosse team! I loved learning to play a new sport with some great friends.

Expedition/ Exploration:

I planned an expedition to Greece with my family! It was so fun to learn about local places to visit. I enjoyed learning more about a new culture and all of the country’s rich history.

Personal Development:

I was always fascinated by the ancient language of India, Sanskrit. My grandmother learned Sanskrit when she was in her fifties, and it was inspiring to see how we are never too old to learn something new! I began studying Sanskrit through a local camp, and I enjoyed learning Sanskrit and writing short stories in Sanskrit. I also enjoy playing the piano. I have been playing since I was 6 years old. I focused on graduating from my piano program, ABRSM with distinction, and I loved challenging myself to learn new songs.

What are your current ambitions?

I recently graduated college with a BS in nutrition! I am super excited to spread and increase health literacy in my local communities. Throughout college, I worked on many research projects focused on Type 1 Diabetes. I would love to continue this research and
exploration as diabetes is a condition that impacts many people in many diverse communities. I also hope to attend medical school in the future!

Where do you find your motivations?

I am motivated by the connections I make with friends and mentors through public service, exploration, and research! I love seeing the growth in myself and any project I work on. Every experience I pursued through the congressional award has had a large positive impact on me! I am excited to see how I can continue to grow and contribute to this amazing community!
